Co-Curate a Session

Overview

To ensure our content remains relevant, we work collaboratively with our community to curate sessions for SphinxConnect each year. If you are interested in co-curating a session with the Sphinx team for SphinxConnect 2026, please submit your contact information and session idea(s) below. Inquiries will be accepted on a rolling basis, but for priority consideration, you should submit your inquiry by 11:59 p.m. ET on Friday, February 28th, 2025. Session proposals have closed for SphinxConnect 2025: Ignite.

The Sphinx team will follow up on inquiries throughout the spring of 2025 as the convening goals and schedule come into focus, with the goal of following up with everyone by Friday, May 30, 2025.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Co-curator’s are expected to:

    • Attend an initial onboarding Zoom call with the Sphinx team to clarify the session goals and format and identify desired supporting speakers.

    • Lead, in conjunction with the Sphinx team, a 30 to 45-minute Zoom call with all session speakers once they are confirmed. Sphinx will coordinate the scheduling of the call.

    • Create the session outline for the supporting speakers and Sphinx team by December 1st, 2025.

    • Provide any audio/visual materials (PowerPoints, etc.) and attendee resources by December 1st, 2025. Please note audio/visual materials and attendee resources are not required.

    • Be responsive to correspondence with the Sphinx team to ensure planning unfolds in a timely manner.

  • Sessions at SphinxConnect are meant to propose tools and strategies to address industry-wide challenges and highlight people and institutions doing impactful work.

  • Below are a few key considerations to keep in mind if you are invited to co-curate at SphinxConnect:

    • Convening sessions generally last one hour. Exceptions can be made, particularly if the session is a pre-convening event.

    • We always recommend at least 4-6 potential options for supporting speakers in case someone declines.

    • If planning a panel discussion, we recommend no more than 5 speakers, including the moderator.

    • Sphinx is unable to support sessions involving food/beverage.

  • All speakers at SphinxConnect may opt-in for the below support when completing their agreement:

    • Lodging at the convening hotel, checking in on Thursday, January 23rd, and checking out on Sunday, January 26th. Sphinx will arrange lodging on your behalf, with the confirmation email coming directly from the convening hotel no later than a week prior to the convening.

    • Travel support offered to offset expenses coming to and from Detroit, as long as speakers complete required action items by December 1st, 2025.

  • Although we work collaboratively with each session's Active Moderator on how the conversation will unfold, most SphinxConnect sessions are a variation of the below.

    • 5 minutes: Speaker introductions and session framing

    • 30 minutes: Discussion

    • 20 minutes: Q&A with the audience

    • 5 minutes: Closing thoughts and key takeaways
