Crew members support every component of the onsite event management process, including, but not limited to, the below areas. Please note that some positions, especially leadership roles, will likely involve some pre-conference work.
Additionally, due to the volume of work involved in registration, all crew members are expected to support the registration team on opening night.
Artist/Speaker Services: Crew members working in Artist Services ensure our special guests and plenary speakers feel welcomed and that their needs are met throughout their time at SphinxConnect.
Ballroom Production: Crew members are stationed in ballrooms to provide technical support to our speakers, including applying microphones, setting up the stage, and ensuring all support materials (PowerPoints, etc.) are functioning.
Expo Hall Support: Crew members ensure a seamless Expo Hall experience from setup to strike for our exhibitors.
Q&A Facilitation: These crew members, often referred to as “Engagement Liaisons,” help facilitate the Q&A portion of each session. This includes coming up with thoughtful questions in case there are no questions from the audience and asking questions on behalf of virtual attendees if the session is streamed.
Registration: Serving as the first point of contact for attendees, these crew members help facilitate the onsite registration process. This includes helping people print their badges, running the “swag” table, and answering any questions about the convening schedule.
-
A single room at the convening hotel. Check-in dates vary depending on the role, but for most positions, attendees will check on/after 4:00 pm ET on Wednesday, January 22nd, and check out by 11:00 am ET on Sunday, January 26th.
A modest stipend to offset travel expenses. The precise stipend amount depends on the roles and responsibilities of the crew member.
Catered, box meals, or per diem allowances are provided throughout the crew member’s agreement period.
-
Crew members are, first and foremost, there to serve the needs of the convening. Although some positions are stationed in the ballrooms where the sessions occur, there is no guarantee that all crew members will be able to attend sessions. You are welcome and encouraged to preview the sample crew schedule before applying.
